Bloomberg. South Africa is looking for new markets for agricultural products due to US customs duties

South Africa is looking for new markets for agricultural products in Asia and other regions due to US customs duties, according to Bloomberg, citing the Minister of Agriculture John Stinzyen.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced the entry of 30% imports on all goods imported from South Africa on August 1. In an interview with 702 local radio station, the United States said that the United States called on the Republic to present a newly changed trade agreement to the Republic of the Republic as soon as the customs dutterial approach.

"South Africa is trying to open new markets in Asia and elsewhere for its agricultural products, which suffered from customs duties set by the United States. Priority is to increase the export of China, Russia, South Korea, the Philippines, Japan and the Middle East are also being discussed, "said Bloomberg, citing Steenhuizen.

At the same time, according to the agency, some South African suppliers say they are able to compete even in the conditions of 30% customs duties, as the Weak exchange rate of South Africa gives them a certain advantage over the dollar.
