Scientists have discovered an unexpected symptom of psychological disorders

Scientists from Indiana University have found that the power to catch hands with early psychosis has decreased, the ability to catch the subjects with a compressed hand. The results of the study were published in the American Psychiatry Magazine (AJP).

The authors have analyzed the functional MRT data and the measurements of the force of 51 healthy volunteers and 89 patients with early psychosis. Psychosis is a severe mental disorder, in which case the perception of reality is disrupted. It can be manifested by hallucinations, delusional ideas, emotional instability, and the decrease in everyday life, anxiety, sleep and appetite disorders.

The study showed that the decrease in force of the catch is related not only to the physical condition, but also with changes in the nervous ties of the brain. Psychosis patients have shown a weaker activity in the chains of the arbitrary skull, sensual-motor and brain. The more expressed these disorders were, the lower the quality of life and the risk of the progress of the disease was so high.

According to the doctor of the work, doctor Musa-Took, mobile disorders can serve as an indicator of deep neuron changes.

"The mental disorder is like a burning house. Hallucinations and delusions are smoke, but not smoke should be treated, but fire. Mobile disorders help to find out where the fire started, "said the scientist.

According to scientists, the indicator of the violent force can become simple and affordable biomarks, allowing the early stages to detect pathology. In addition, neurocharical methods, in particular, the transmission of transmitters, potentially can restore broken ties between the main parts of the brain and thus improve the clinical condition of patients.
