Armenian and Greek ethnicity is an insult in the speech of Turkey's ruling party

Shamil Tayar, the former deputy of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP-AKP) in Turkey, responded to the statements of Mustafa Destiji, the leader of the opposition "Great Union Party" (BBP) operating in Turkey.

He called the criticisms of Destigi's decision to deduct/pay a fee of 750 lira from credit cards over 100,000 lira for the Turkish Military Industry Fund racist.

"With this decision, has our president become a traitor to the motherland, or is he a Greek, an Armenian, or something else?" he said, attributing "Armenian" and "Greek" nationalities as an insult.

He also noted that a number of people's card limits have already been reduced from 100,000 liras, and Destigi defends the "People's Equality and Democracy Party" (DEM), Greece and Armenia, which do not pay credit card dues.
