Biblical miracles have been perceived only as a matter of faith, but modern science finds rational explanations for some of them. The researchers singled out three miracles made by Jesus Christ, which can have a scientific basis.
According to Komsomolskaya Pravda, the first of them is a wonderful hunting of fish in the Sea of Galilee (cinema). According to the Bible, Jesus' disciples failed to catch fish all night. In the morning, Jesus advised them to throw their nets to the right side of the boat, after which they caught 153 large fish.
The Israeli scholars of the Labor Laboratory and Land, Water and Environmental Research Institute, together with their Australian partners of the River Institute, conducted a study on this phenomenon, Planet Today reports. They found out that the waters of Lake Kerineet are layered. The upper hot layer is equipped with oxygen, while the lower cold layer is practically devoid of it because of the flourishing of phytoplankton.
In the case of strong winds, the layers of fish can be mixed, as a result of which the fish appear in the lack of oxygen. Being suffocated, he climbs the water surface where he can be easily caught. Such natural phenomena are regularly observed in March, during the events described in the Bible. Mass masses of fish were registered in the 1990s, as well as in 2007, 2012 and 2023.
The second miracle, walking on Jesus' water, also received a scientific comments. Doron Noff, a professor in the Ocean University of Florida, assumed that this phenomenon could be related to rare climatic anomaly. According to his version, the surface of the Lake Kerineet could be covered with a thin ice peel, up to -4 ° C because of short frostbite.
Led by Nofi, scientists studied the western part of the lake, where, according to legend, a miracle occurred. Here are the sources of cold salt, which create favorable conditions for ice. Climate data analysis has shown that frosts have occurred several times in the lake over the past 12,000 years, and some of them coincide with Bible history.
The third miracle, the resurrection of Lazarus four days after his death, is considered a possible case of resuscitation by scientists. Doctors at the University of China's Sunni University have conducted trials to temporarily restore the vital functions of dead animal organs. Connecting pigs to an artificial respiration device and a special device that simulates the pulse and enriched the blood with oxygen, they were able to "revive" animals for a few hours, their heartbeat and the electrical activity of the brain were restored.
Neurologists at the University of Illinois have found that some body cells continue to operate even after the heart stop. Glial cells increase the expression of genes in the brain for almost a day after death. Sometimes living cells were found even 96 hours later, according to the Bible, in the Bible, Lazarus had spent so long before his resurrection.
These scientific discoveries do not reduce faith in miracles, but offer them to consider modern knowledge prism. They show that some Bible events can have a natural explanation, although the accurate mechanism of taking place remains a subject of debate among scientists and theologians.
Many researchers emphasize that even if there are scientific verses that explain the possible mechanisms of these miracles, they require a special combination of circumstances or knowledge that Jesus could have.
