The US administration says that Iran has informed the US of its desire to work out a ceasefire agreement, and that contacts between Washington and Tehran are continuing.

"Iran continues to negotiate with the United States and declare that it wants to make a deal with us, because the American armed forces are inflicting devastating blows on it."
