The Armenian Assembly of America has applied to Trump on Armenian prisoners in Baku

Co-Chairs of the Armenian Assembly of America Oscar Tatosyan and Talin Yakubyan called on President Donald Trump to take active steps to release Armenian captives in Baku, which will ensure real peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The authors of the letter of the Armenian Assembly also reminded the US President's statement on "Armenia and Azerbaijan to restore peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan" not possible until all Armenian prisoners and prisoners of war were released by Baku.

"We urge you to use all the tools at your disposal for the release of Armenian prisoners as soon as possible," said the authors of the letter.

The Co-Chairs of the Armenian Assembly of America also stressed that there should be strong security guarantees, as well as serious consequences if Azerbaijan violates this agreement.

In their letter, they stressed the next failure of Azerbaijan during the first term of President Tram, "its international obligations, including the agreement reached in Washington in Washington."

The letter also expressed serious concerns about Azerbaijan's continuous military presence in Armenia's strategic areas and has explained that despite Armenia's readiness to achieve a steady peace agreement, Azerbaijan continues to conduct illegal demonstration over Armenian captives.

The Co-Chairs reminded that the ethnic cleansings of 120,000 Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh remain unresolved humanitarian crisis, and their letter stressed that the rights and status of Armenians must be resolved, and the fundamental right of their return must be guaranteed.
