No sessions on Ukraine are planned at the BRICS summit, Ushakov said

There are no plans to hold a separate session on the issue of Ukraine at the BRICS summit in Kazan, said presidential aide Yuri Ushakov. Also, no events are expected under the Friends of Peace umbrella, the diplomat added.
The creation of a Friends of Peace group to resolve the Ukrainian crisis became known on September 27. Foreign ministers and senior representatives of several countries met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. Following its results, Algeria, Bolivia, Brazil, China, Colombia, Egypt, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Mexico, South Africa, Turkey and Zambia published a joint communiqué. France, Switzerland and Hungary also took part in the discussion.
China and Brazil in May this year published a six-point document on a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis, which received positive feedback from more than 100 countries. He calls on all parties involved to adhere to the three principles of de-escalation of the situation, namely: not to expand the battlefield, not to escalate hostilities and not to commit provocations. The document emphasizes that dialogue and negotiations are the only viable solution to the Ukrainian crisis. The authors also call for increasing the volume of humanitarian assistance and preventing the humanitarian crisis from growing, and avoiding attacks on civilians and civilian objects.
