The European Union (EU) may include foreign legal entities in the 16th package of anti-Russian sanctions, which are using the financial message transfer system of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the Russian-International Swift System. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing sources.
According to them, sanctions may be imposed on three "banks controlled by Russia", as well as legal entities using SPFS system. According to the agency, these measures are only proposals and should be confirmed by all EU countries.
The European Commission will officially present the draft package of anti-Russian sanctions to the EU authorities on Wednesday. The exact date of its adoption is not specified, but Brussels expects to establish these restrictions in February.
