Netanyahu calls Hamas "new Nazis"

On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on the international community to resist anti-Semitism and called the Palestinian radical Hamas movement "the new Nazis."

The Prime Minister's staff issued a corresponding statement.

"Hamas are the new Nazis, and we intend to defeat them once and for all," the Israeli Prime Minister said, noting that "the Jewish state will always be a refuge for Jews from all over the world.

"On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, I call on all civilized countries to confront anti-Semitism, whether it is manifested in university buildings, on city streets, or in international organizations such as the ICC," Netanyahu continued.

According to him, "the ICC has disgraced itself with anti-Semitic attacks against Israel."

According to the resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly on November 1, 2005, International Holocaust Remembrance Day is celebrated annually on January 27.
