Helsinki will send a Hamina-class missile ship to the Baltic Sea as part of NATO's Baltic Sentinel mission, the Finnish Navy said on its website.
"In the coming weeks and months, several Finnish naval units will participate in the joint operation, which will vary depending on the situation and operational requirements.
In addition to the ships under the Finnish Navy's national command, a Hamina-class missile boat will be deployed as part of the permanent NATO Naval Group 1.
The Finnish Navy added that the ship will be deployed to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in January and February.
NATO has not specified how many ships and air assets will be involved, but has emphasized that the mission is open-ended.
