The EAEU board has established rules for non-tariff regulation of e-commerce products

The board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EACE) has defined the features of the import of e-commerce products purchased by individuals into the customs territory, to which non-tariff regulation measures are applied, the EAEC press service reported. "The draft decision was prepared last year by the Union Customs in connection with the adoption of amendments to the Code, which precisely defines the category of e-commerce products.


The document envisages that a regime will apply to practically all purchases made by individuals, which does not worsen the situation of individuals who today import permitted products for personal use, explained Andrei Slepnev, the Minister of Trade of the EAEU , smart watches) is still allowed to import, but at the same time it is prohibited to import precious stones and precious metals, medicinal products, special technical products, the import of pesticides, ozone depleting substances, toxic substances, narcotics and psychoactive substances, weapons and a number of other products.


At the same time, the press service noted that regarding medicinal products, it was decided to further develop the issue of the possibility of their import. Also, the possibility of importing other categories of goods by individuals will be developed, taking into account the interest of EAEU member states.


However, this will happen no sooner than the amendments to the Customs Code come into force, which, in turn, will come into force after all EAEU countries have completed the relevant domestic procedures. Andrey Slepnev reminded that, taking into account the separation of the category of e-commerce products, a number of measures will be taken in the near future. other decisions that refer, among others, to issues of customs-tariff regulation.
