US President Joe Biden admitted in an interview with MSNBC that he was afraid of an assassination attempt during his unannounced visit to Kiev in 2023.
Biden shared details of his visit to Ukraine at the height of the conflict, answering a reporter's question about how he made the decision to go to a combat zone that was "not controlled by American forces."
"I was worried that radical elements in Ukraine who were under the control of the Russians or were cooperating with the Russians might try to do this," he said.
That's why, he says, he was accompanied by "the best people" on the 10-hour train ride to Ukraine.
