Netanyahu's office confirmed the ceasefire agreement with Hamas

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office has confirmed the signing of an agreement on the release of hostages and a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip by Israel, the Palestinian Hamas movement, the United States and Qatar. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post newspaper, referring to the statement.

Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers of Security will be convened for the approval of the agreement, and then a government meeting will be held. Voting will take place on January 18.
It is noted that due to the postponement of the vote, the release of the first three hostages within the framework of the deal will be postponed to January 20. The reason for the delay was the disagreements with Hamas that arose at the end of the negotiations.

The Israeli Walla news portal reported that Netanyahu was informed that on the evening of January 16, the negotiating team in Doha officially signed an agreement on the release of hostages and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
