The US will tighten sanctions in the field of cyber security

The outgoing administration of US President Joe Biden is tightening cyber security sanctions due to hacking attacks and alleged threats from Iran, China and Russia, US Deputy National Security Advisor Anne Nyberger said in a special online briefing for reporters.

According to him, the executive order, which will be signed by the head of the administration, contains a provision for "broader and simplified application of sanctions against states, extortionists and other malicious forces in cyberspace that threaten the national security of the United States and allies."

At the same time, the deputy assistant to the president claimed that "the US government, corporations and citizens are increasingly victims of hackers and cyberattacks by 'US adversary states.'
