The President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Artur Atabekyan.
He emphasized the special importance of the messages delivered during the event and the role of the judicial system presented for our state. Vahagn Khachaturyan emphasized that justice and a judicial system that enjoys the trust of the people are of fundamental importance for the development and stability of the country.
He noted that in democratic states, the judicial system plays a crucial role in the perception of the country's role by both society and the international community.
The president of the Supreme Judicial Council emphasized that the implemented reforms will have a continuous nature, and the goals of forming a more independent, reliable and transparent judicial system will definitely be fulfilled. "We will definitely make all the steps and initiatives a reality.
We will spare no effort to increase public trust. Although we do our job, the public is not fully aware of how the systems work in the judiciary.
Of course, it cannot be completely open, but the maximum possible total transparency will create a higher level of public trust," he noted.
At the meeting, thoughts were exchanged on the reforms of the judicial system, their process and effectiveness, as well as ways to increase the system's transparency, independence and public trust.
