About 155 tons of natural soil contaminated with fuel oil were removed from the beaches of Sevastopol

In Sevastopol, more than 5 tons of natural soil contaminated with fuel oil were removed during the last 24 hours, and during the entire work, about 155 tons, the head of the city, Mikhail Razvozhaev, said.

"On January 12, 5.84 tons of oil-contaminated soil was removed from the beaches of Severnaya Storona, Golubaya Bukhta and Balaklava. During the entire work, 154.47 tons," wrote Razvozhaev on his Telegram channel.

He also added that 23 birds affected by fuel oil emissions are in the state veterinary clinic for rehabilitation. tankers, as a result of which a fuel leak occurred.

According to the data of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, about 2400 tons of fuel oil were spilled into the sea due to the disaster of the tankers. In Sevastopol, emissions of fuel oil were registered since January 3. In the Krasnodar Territory, Crimea and Sevastopol, regional states of emergency have been established, as well as a federal state of emergency.
