Ukraine will not cancel flights from the UK for now.
"We have a visa regime with the UK which limits the number of passengers traveling between our countries. Currently, flights are performed mainly for Ukrainians studying abroad to return home for the Christmas holidays," Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii posted on Telegram.

The minister noted that Ukraine will monitor the situation with COVID-19 in the UK and change this decision if necessary.

Earlier, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson stated that the country confirmed a new genetic variant of the coronavirus which may be 70% more transmissible.

The British government is tightening quarantine restrictions in London and the south-east of England. During the Christmas holidays, residents of these regions will be forbidden to meet with friends and relatives. Non-essential stores, gyms and hairdressers will be closed. The Britons are advised not to leave home and refrain from unnecessary travel.
