President Volodymyr Zelensky considers the establishment of peace, the return of all illegally detained people and Ukrainian territories, and the provision of a modern, capable army as the main priorities for his presidency.
He said this at the opening of the Rapid Trident 2020 military exercise in Lviv region on September 17, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The long-awaited peace, the return of all our people and the return of all our territories have been and always will be my priorities. Also, my priority is a modern, equipped and combat-capable Ukrainian army," the head of state stressed.

In his opinion, the Ukrainian army can guarantee the security, peace and free development of an independent Ukraine.

The President also noted that during his meetings with international leaders he declares that the war in Donbas poses a threat not only to Ukraine but also to the security and stability of all countries in Europe and around the world.

“Our partners stand in full solidarity with me on this issue. Therefore, we have united to overcome existing challenges and find mechanisms for an appropriate response to them,” Zelensky said.

According to the President, one of such mechanisms is Ukraine's integration into NATO.

As Ukrinform reported, on Thursday, September 17, President Volodymyr Zelensky is on a working trip to Lviv region, where he takes part in the opening of Rapid Trident 2020 and the presentation of a regional development strategy.
