The Verkhovna Rada has approved at first reading the bill “On amendments to some laws of Ukraine regarding the access to the infrastructure of facilities belonging to the construction, transportation and electric power industries” (No 2042).
A total of 300 MPs voted in favor of the relevant document on Tuesday, November 12, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

The bill is aimed at creating favorable conditions for providers of electronic communication services so that they can arrange electronic communications equipment and provide services to consumers, both individuals and legal entities.

Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Digital Transformation Oleksandr Fedienko explained that the development of “a digital country requires a developed digital infrastructure,” which, first of all, needs sufficient Internet coverage of large areas, especially rural areas.
