In October 2019, consumer prices in Ukraine grew by 0.7% compared to the previous month, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
“Inflation on the consumer market totaled 0.7% in October 2019 against September 2019, and 4.2% since the beginning of the year. Core inflation amounted to 0.7% in October 2019 against September 2019, 4.1% since the beginning of the year,” reads the report.

Consumer prices rose by 0.7% in October 2019 compared to September 2019, by 4.2% compared to December 2018, and by 6.5% compared to October 2018. In January-October 2019, inflation on the consumer market stood at 8.6% compared to the relevant period in 2018.

As to the prices for consumer goods and services in October 2019, the largest increase, compared with December 2018, was recorded among the prices for fruits (an increase of 25.8%), passenger rail services (an increase of 18.8%), and hot water and heating supply (an increase of 13.9%).

At the same time, in the period from December 2018 to October 2019, the drop was recorded among the prices for natural gas (a decrease of 28.8%), eggs (a decrease of 17.2%), fuel and lubricants (a decrease of 6.8%).

As Ukrinform reported, according to the State Statistics Service, consumer prices rose by 1.7% in October 2018 compared to the previous month, and by 7.4% since the beginning of 2018. Core inflation in October 2018 amounted to 1.3% compared to the previous month and 1.3% since the start of the year.
