The budget of the medical guarantees program, a government-guaranteed package of healthcare services formed by the National Health Service of Ukraine, will amount to UAH 72 billion.
Health Minister Zoriana Skaletska stated this at a press conference as part of the seminar held for specialized medical institutions in the city of Dnipro on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“The transformation of the healthcare system is entering the second stage - we are launching the work with specialized healthcare institutions, which will receive funds from the national budget under a contract with the National Health Service of Ukraine from April 2020. We have projected UAH 113.3 billion for the healthcare sector in the state budget for 2020, of which almost 64% will be used for the medical guarantees program that guarantees, in particular, free birth delivery services, treatment of strokes, heart attacks and neonatal care. This concerns the most common diseases and conditions that affect the quality and life expectancy,” said Skaletska.

According to Head of the National Health Service Oleh Petrenko, the program of medical guarantees will be fully launched from April 1, 2020.
