Apple will have a representative on OpenAI's board of directors. Why does Apple need this and what problems could it cause?

Phil Schiller, the current head of the App Store and former head of Apple's marketing department, will represent the company's interests on the board of directors of the non-profit OpenAI organization, Bloomberg has learned. Schiller will have an observer role, able to attend board meetings but not vote or act as a director. Integrate ChatGPT on iOS and macOS. With user permission integrated with ChatGPT, Siri will be able to direct complex queries to the chatbot. Apple is reportedly paying nothing to OpenAI as part of this partnership project, but is expected to eventually receive a percentage of ChatGPT subscriptions that will be formulated through its platforms. Previously, a representative of Microsoft joined the board of directors of OpenAI, which is one of the major investors and the main partner of this company, the author of artificial intelligence models. Bloomberg notes that the presence of representatives of Apple and Microsoft in OpenAI on the board of directors could complicate project discussions with either company. Apple management rarely sits on the boards of directors of the companies it cooperates with. There have been no official comments from OpenAI and Apple yet.
