Apple will no longer replace broken iPhone and Apple Watch screens for free under warranty

Apple recently changed its policy and will no longer replace broken iPhone and Apple Watch screens for free under warranty. This was reported by the WCCFTech website, referring to a document addressed to authorized retailers and service centers. It states that the standard warranty no longer covers the repair of micro-cracks on the devices' screens. Previously, if microcracks appeared on the screen of the device, Apple would replace the glass with a new one for free, if there was no other damage to the body of the device. But under the new policy, such defects are now classified as accidental damage, which excludes repair under warranty. So iPhone and Apple Watch owners will now have to pay for repairs themselves if their devices aren't covered by the AppleCare+ extended warranty. At the moment, the innovation applies only to the iPhone and Apple Watch, but it is possible that such restrictions will be applied to other categories of devices, such as the iPad and Mac. For now, these devices are covered under the standard warranty for such damage.
