A concert dedicated to the centenary of Charles Aznavour will be held at the Estrada Theater in Moscow


On June 4, a festive concert dedicated to the world-famous singer and actor Charles Aznavour's centenary will be held at the Moscow State Theater of Estrada. According to "Armenpress", TASS was informed about this in the press service of the project. "On June 4, a festive concert dedicated to the centenary of the great Charles Aznavour will be held at the Moscow Pop Theater. Young opera stars and well-known musical artists David Sanikidze, Sofiko Kardava, Elmira Divaeva and Dmitry Ribeiro Ferreira will perform the songs of the famous chansonnier, loved by everyone. "Eternal love", "La Bohème", "You and I", "O you, life", "Yesterday" and other masterpieces of French classics will be performed by the Kremlin State Orchestra. It will be conducted by one of the most sought-after young conductors in Russia, Konstantin Chudovsky," the report said. Charles Aznavour has written more than a thousand songs, many of which have become world hits, played in about 60 films and sold more than 200 million CDs.  He made his debut on the Parisian stage at the age of nine, performing Russian dances. Shahnur Aznavouryan, the son of Armenian exiles, who later changed his name to the French style, performed for 85 years. During his career, Aznavour released 294 albums and performed around 1100 concerts in 94 countries of the world. Her songs were performed by Edith Piaf, Yves Montagne, Bob Dylan, Liza Minnelli, Sting, Julio Iglesias and other stars of the world stage. He gained popularity in Russia after the release of the film "Tehran-43", where the main musical theme became the melody of the song "Eternal Love". Charles Aznavour also gained recognition as a writer. His first literary experience was a diary of a trip to Spain, then in 1991 he published a collection of lyrics and short prose under the title "Speech for a Poster", in 2003 the memoir "Time of the Pioneers" was published, and in October 2005 he published "My Life" images" collection of short stories. Later, he published seven more books, including an autobiographical novel. Aznavour's work was marked by many high awards. Among them are the French Legion of Honor and "For Merit" orders, as well as the "César" film award. In 2004, Armenia awarded him the title of National Hero. In January 2009, the chansonnier was awarded the International Recording and Music Market Special Award for "Impressive Professional Career" and in April 2012, the Tree of Life Charitable Foundation for the Revival of National, Cultural and Spiritual Heritage (CIH) Award.
