American football player Chris Richards has made a historic achievement in the 2026 World Cup, which was unprecedented for 60 years, according to X social media platform Sofascore Football. On the night of June 13, the United States defeated Paraguay 4-1 in their first match of the World Cup group stage.
Richards played the entire game and completed 83 passes, all of them accurate. This has never happened in the history of the World Cup. Statistics kept in World Cups since 1966 show that no player has previously made at least 80 passes in a game and achieved 100% accuracy.
The World Championship takes place from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Mexico and Canada. The current world champion is Argentina, who defeated France in the 2022 final.
