After the decision by Paris to expel two Iranian diplomats, the head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament, Ebrahim Aziz, warned France about the expected consequences.
"The people of Iran never forget the constant betrayals of France," Aziz wrote on the X social network, referring to the case of "infected blood", the INSTEX mechanism and the "snapback" procedure. According to him, the continuation of "anti-Iranian actions" will only complicate the situation of France.
Earlier, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barro announced the intention to deport two Iranian diplomats to Paris in the near future. According to him, the reason is the incident that took place on July 19, during which, according to the French side, a deliberate attack was carried out on two French diplomats. Baro considered the incident unacceptable, stressing that it will not remain without consequences.
In response, the Iranian Foreign Ministry declared persona non grata to two employees of the French Embassy in Tehran. The department claimed that they engaged in activities contrary to international law and the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
According to the statement of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, weeks after the "illegal actions" appeared, the French side did not take any measures to settle the situation and exclude the repetition of similar steps in the future. As a result, two French diplomats were banned from entering the Islamic Republic of Iran.
