In the first match of the third qualifying round of the Champions League 2026/27 season, the current champion of Armenia "Ararat-Armenia" won against the champion of Slovenia "Celje" with a score of 2:1.
During the match held at the "Republican" stadium named after Vazgen Sargsyan, the guests opened the scoring in the 22nd minute thanks to the penalty shot by Svit Seslar.
In the 38th minute of the first half, the midfielder of the Armenian national team Artur Serobyan equalized the score with a long shot from the penalty area.
In the second half, "Ararat-Armenia" managed to advance. Carlos France scored the goal in the 70th minute, making the final score of the match 2:1.
This victory is historic for Armenian club football, because no Armenian club had been able to register a victory in the third qualifying round of the Champions League before this.
