For not removing the Artsakh flag from the "corner of glory" of the school, Karine Smbatyan, the director of the Sardarapat community school in Armavir marz, wrote a resignation letter.
The flag was sent from the Hadrut region of Artsakh to the students of Sardarapat, as a sign of gratitude that the students of the school sent sweets to the soldiers of Hadrut both during the April war and the 44 days. They also sent their names on the flag to the school. However, as a result of Pashinyan's pro-Karabakh policy and after the recent circular sent to schools by KGSMN, the school's management faced a choice: either to remove the heroes' corner, including the flag, or the director should say goodbye to the position.
At first, the deputy governor of Armavir went as a messenger, but he could not pressure Karine Smbatyan and left empty-handed. Then the governor of the region, Vahram Khachatryan, personally visited the school and urged the director: either he fires him, or he himself leaves.
Smbatyan chose the second way, he also made a note yesterday. "The position is temporary, the motherland is eternal. My removal or being deprived of my position is the smallest price for what I believe in and what I serve. I cannot remain silent when the spiritual and patriotic values of our students are under attack. The flag, which has become the subject of discussion today, is not just a symbol. it is a living memory, holiness and message for our students, written by the hands of today's heroes. ...
Mr. Governor, you can remove me from office, but you cannot remove patriotism from my heart."
