We asked for two numbers. How many suicides? How many suicide attempts?
Of course, it is already known from the published official reports that in 2026, in at least four cases of the death of servicemen, the CC conducted an investigation on the hypothesis of suicide or causing the soldier to commit suicide. In January, in the case of the death of Vahan Petrosyan, a criminal prosecution was initiated against one person under the charge of causing the soldier to commit suicide by negligence. In April, proceedings were initiated regarding the death of Narek Hakobyan under the charge of causing the soldier to commit suicide.
In June, in the case of Aramayis Gevorgyan's death, proceedings were also initiated under the charge of negligent suicide.
These are the published cases. And we do not know the total number, because the Investigative Committee does not report it. maybe the total number is actually much higher. The question here is simple. if the state can publish that the suicide hypothesis is being investigated in the case of the death of this or that serviceman, then why can't the same state publish how many such cases were recorded during the year? Statistics are not the secret details of a criminal case.
