FT: Iran may hit Israel before US elections

Iran may be considering launching an attack on Israeli territory in the next two to three days. The Financial Times (FT) newspaper reported this, citing sources close to the Iranian leadership.

According to the FT, the strike could be carried out before the general elections in the United States on November 5. As the official representative of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, the elite units of the Iranian Armed Forces), Major General Ali Mohammad Naeini, said on November 2, Iran’s response to the Israeli attack will be characterized by surprise and will exceed all enemy expectations. According to Naeini, the Jewish state "is mistaken in thinking that Iran is afraid to enter into war and direct confrontation with it, leaving military attacks unanswered."
