"Teatron" International Festival aims to strengthen the cultural dialogue between Armenia and the Francophone world, creating a new platform for creative meetings and collaborations.
 

The Francophone international performing arts festival "Theatron", which is held from October 22 to November 3 in Kapan, Goris, Gavar and Yerevan, has brought together well-known French choreographers, experts in the field from Armenia and curious art lovers. Master classes, workshops are held during the festival, exhibitions of exclusive dance performances and other interesting initiatives are expected.
 
 

At a meeting with journalists on October 30, Yerevan Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan said that the festival is one of the important achievements of our cultural life. it not only presents high art and diverse programs, but also serves a great purpose: it develops intercultural dialogue and promotes cultural diversity, deepens the spread and recognition of the values of Francophonie in Armenia. "Yerevan has always been a city of culture and art, and our stages are open to creative thought, new ideas and bold experiments, so it is not by chance that they host such beautiful and significant initiatives," said Hovhannisyan and emphasized that Yerevan Municipality "Theatron" is the main sponsor of the festival and provided 20 million drams for the festival. Co-founder and director of "Theatron" Sate Khachatryan dreamed of holding an international francophone festival in Armenia, which would bring together the famous francophone artists of the world. "Our vision and dream is that one day Armenia becomes a place of cultural meetings for francophone artists, so that every year they say goodbye to each other and promise to meet again in Armenia next year. I hope that this initiative will be continuous, because our goal is to create a platform where there will be new collaborations and it will be possible to host important artists, and in the future our artists will be able to go abroad and create new collaborations with our partner countries," said Khachatryan.
 
 

Within the framework of the festival, famous French choreographers Murad Merzouki, Yoan Bourgeois and Kader Atu arrived in Armenia. At the opening of "Theatron" in Yerevan, which will take place on October 31, G. At the National Academic Theater named after Sundukyan, art lovers will have the opportunity to watch the dance performance "Pixel" by Murad Merzouki.
 

On November 1, at the National Gallery of Armenia, it will be possible to enjoy Joan Bourgeois's "Attempts to Approach the Hanging Point. Approach 1: Contrast, Approach 17: Opening" performance. On the same day, the collection of plays by Natalie Fillion, Genevieve Damas and Astrid Baiha will be presented at the "Zangak" library. Among the significant events are the workshop to be held on November 3 at the Yerevan State School of Dance, with the participation of Murad Merzouki and Kader Atu, and on the evening of November 3 at the Cafesjian Sculpture Garden (Cascade Complex), Joan Bourgeois' "Attempts to Approach the Hanging Point. Screenings of Approach 1: Contrast, Approach 17: Opening" performance and Kader Atu's PRELUDE dance performance.
