Scientists have found that the beetles polled Laurent 24 million years ago

The group of international scientists found the leadership of the University of Vienna that the beetles pave the flowers of Lauren 24 million years ago. This is the first scientific evidence of such ancient interaction between a certain plant and its pollinator. The results were published in the "New Fytologist" magazine.

Scientists have reached this conclusion, analyzing the fossils found in the sedimed sediments of the old volcanic lake, ENPL-VOSIL-Lagersteeth (Germany). Scientists have discovered both lourish flowers, both beetles, as well as floral grains maintained on insects and plants. This allowed them to document the pollination directly.

Lori new type is called Tilia Magnasepala, which means "Lauren with big glasses." Two new beetles are also described by Bombus (Kronobombus) PaleoCrater. These beetles are one of the oldest known representatives of the Bombus tribe.

Flower extracted and analyzed by UV and blue light, as well as through electronic microscope. According to researchers, even at the time the bumblebees showed a typical behavioral strategy, the stability of flourishing, which means that they had repeatedly visited the same plant as one flight.

The authors emphasize that understanding the relationship between old dusting is important in the context of the current pollinaire crisis.
