An unexpected new asteroid danger was found

The scientists, led by Astronomer of the Astrear St. Ambiscase of Canada, have studied the influence of 2023 CX1 small asteroids, which entered into France's atmosphere in February last year. The results showed that a certain type of asteroids could be unharmed to 30 kilometers, and almost immediately exaggerated almost all energy. The study was published in the Nature Astronomy magazine.

"Asteroid was found only seven hours before entering the atmosphere," said Peter Geniscence, astronomer at the Seti Ines Research Center. "I immediately called my brother in the Netherlands, and he was able to see the fire bowl with his own eyes."

The celestial body was about 72 centimeters in diameter and weighed 650 kilograms. Despite its modest dimensions, it caused a shiny fire in its final stage, double blast. The analysis has shown that the asteroid belongs to the common type of normal-iron humdrid content of L-Condritis.

The expedition with the participation of Fripon / Vigie-Ciel scientists and volunteers, just a few hours after the collision in Normandy, restored the first fragments. One fragment weighed only 3 grams and was found in the grass, where it was only due to the moss.

According to researchers, the main feature of the event was the unusual dynamics of its degradation.

"The asteroid has been maintained much longer than usual, it has been eroded about 28 kilometers in a small part of the second, losing 98% of his kinetic energy," Erjhan Eigal explained. "This has led to the formation of a concentrated sparkle wave."

NASA's calculations have shown that the dangerous hypertension zone was four times larger than the area of atmospheric standards. This means that such objects are a more serious threat to populated areas.
