A mysterious giant bubble has been found in our galaxy

Astronomers of the Swedish University of Calmers have discovered a huge bubble of gas and dust around the Red Gerstation DFK 52, the most similar structure known in our galaxy. The mass of the exhaust material is comparable to the sun's mass, and the bubble itself stretches 1.4 light years. The work was published in the magazine "Astronomy and Astrophysics" (A & A).

"We were surprised when we saw Alma's data. This star is almost a Betelgeaze's twin, but it is surrounded by a huge messy cloud of the material, "said the head of the study Mark Zibert.

It is estimated that the material was discharged about 4,000 years ago, a powerful explosion, during which the star poured part of its outer layers. Such events are usually preceded by an explosion of the supernoval star, but DFK 52 still exists, which remains for mysterious researchers.

The analysis of the Molecules movement in the cloud showed that the bubble continues to expand. One version is that the loss of the mass could be due to having a "hidden" companion of Gerhska, which affected its evolution.

Red Gertrs, such as DFK 52, are rare and bright stars that finish their life cycle. In the future they have to explode as supernoval stars. Scientists do not rule out that this star can become the next "cosmic outbreak" of our galaxy.

"We plan new observations to better understand what is happening and to find out if the DFK 52 can be the next capita of the Milk. If this star is characteristic, his death can occur in the next million years, "astronomer Elvir de Beck explained.
