Muscovites were promised warmer weather than normal

Next week the temperature in the capital will rise to 13°C, says the chief specialist of the Hydrometeorological Center, Marina Makarova, in an interview with NEWS.ru.

She said daytime temperatures from Monday to Wednesday will range from 11°C to 13°C, with nighttime temperatures dropping to 6°C. No rain is forecast, and atmospheric pressure will drop due to the movement of the anticyclone.

Makarova said that in the second half of the week Muscovites will be able to see more clouds in the sky. There will be precipitation in places and temperatures will rise to 6-11°C during the day and 5°C at night. The forecaster also drew attention to the fact that such indicators are three degrees above the climate norm.

At the beginning of the month, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center, Roman Vilfand, reminded residents of the capital that winter is coming. According to him, frosts down to -25°C are predicted in the region in January and February, and snow has already covered 70% of Russia. Speaking generally about the coming winter in the country, the forecaster noted that it is “predicted based on monthly averages to be mild,” but the weather is expected to be changeable.

Earlier, Moscow was shrouded in “radiation” fog.
