On February 14, the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, by the Pontifical direction of His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians and with the blessing of the Primate of the Aragatsotn Diocese, His Grace Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, the relic of Saint Sarkis the Commander-in-Chief will be brought from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin to the Holy Sarkis Church in Ashtarak for the first time.
The Aragatsotn Diocese reports that in accordance with the established tradition, a ceremony of blessing the salt offering will be performed with the Holy Relic and a Holy and Immortal Liturgy will be served, starting at 10:30.
The Holy Relic will remain in the church until 16:00.
