Azerbaijan sent a notification to the United States to stop the US International Development Agency (USAID), the head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Spokesman Aykhan Hajizade.

"The American side has been sent an official notice that there are no legal grounds for USAID's activities in the country and it has been suspended," he told reporters.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said in mid-January that there were no legal grounds for USAID activities in Azerbaijan on June 1, 2024.
