In recent days, some claims have been spread in the press and social networks that the drinking water supply schedule of Yerevan has been violated, and the schedule published by "Veolia Water" CJSC on April 3 has been changed and worsened. The Water Committee of RA TKE and "Veolia Water" CJSC officially declare that these claims do not correspond to reality.
Let's remind that in 2025 by "Veolia Water" CJSC. in November and 2026 In February, schedules were published, according to which in 2026 from May 1 to September 16, the water supply of many customers in Yerevan was to be reduced to 17 hours a day.
"As a result of the government's intervention, the Water Committee and Veolia Water revised and improved the published schedule, committing to redouble efforts in the following two directions:
Capital overhaul works of water supply systems and distribution networks carried out in the city of Yerevan, discovery of new water sources and transfer of new water volumes to the city of Yerevan.
As a result, we note with satisfaction that as of July 2, the subscribers of the city of Yerevan continue to use the same water supply schedule that was in effect until May 1, that is, the schedule published on April 3 has not yet entered into force, because the "Veolia Water" company and the Water Committee managed to carry out the above-mentioned works at an accelerated pace.
In particular, within the framework of the agreement signed between the RA government and "Veolia Water" CJSC, about 11 billion drams worth of capital works have been almost completed in Nubarashen, Ajapniak, Malatia-Sebastia and Kentron administrative regions of Yerevan, as well as in a number of marzes.
In addition, intensive works have been carried out and are being carried out in the direction of transferring water resources from three new sources to Yerevan.
We consider it necessary to emphasize that the reason for the water cuts recorded in the Arabkir, Kentron and Erebuni administrative districts of Yerevan in the last two days is not the current schedule, but the repair of the damaged section of the "Arzni 1" water pipeline. in particular, the 90 linear meter section of the 900 mm diameter water pipe in the Ptghni valley was replaced by a 1000 mm diameter steel pipeline.
The announced duration of the water cut of up to 36 hours was due not only to the repair work itself, but also to the technological process of refilling the aqueduct and reservoirs, which requires several more hours.
As of July 2, the repair works have been completed, the reservoirs are being filled, and regular water supply will be restored in the Arabkir, Kentron and Erebuni administrative regions within the announced period.
