How autonomous are the new iPhone 16, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max compared to other flagships?

With the release of the new iPhone 16, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, many users are wondering whether they have become more autonomous thanks to their larger batteries. To find out, the author of the Tech Chap channel conducted a large-scale test, comparing the new products not only with previous Apple models, but also with flagships from other manufacturers. The test involved the iPhone 16, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, as well as last year's iPhone 15 and 15 Pro Max. In addition to them, the comparison included OnePlus 12, Oppo Find X7 Ultra, Honor Magic6 Pro, Vivo X100 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Pixel 9 Pro XL.The iPhone 15 Pro was the first to stop working, having lasted 8 hours and 11 minutes. The iPhone 15 lasted a little longer with a result of 8 hours and 30 minutes. The new iPhone 16 and 16 Pro were able to work for 9 hours 6 minutes and 9 hours 11 minutes, respectively, which is 10% more than their predecessors. The iPhone 15 Pro Max, which has previously often shown good results in such tests, this time turned off after 9 hours 26 minutes - not much more than the iPhone 16 Pro. However, the iPhone 16 Pro Max significantly outperformed the other models, lasting 11 hours 29 minutes, which makes it third overall. The Honor Magic6 Pro was able to last four minutes longer, but this can be considered a minimal difference. The leader of the test was the Vivo X100 Pro with an impressive result of 12 hours 22 minutes. Thus, we can conclude that the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro are only slightly more autonomous than their predecessors and are close to the results of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is noticeably ahead of both older models and younger newcomers in the line. It is worth noting that the new iPhone 16 Pro uses technology with a metal battery case, which may play a role in increasing autonomy. Perhaps these batteries have a system in which they are “shot” out of the case when a small discharge is applied.
