The Turkish media reports about conducting an investigation against the law enforcement officers accused of the coup attempt. According to journalists, the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, held an emergency meeting with the heads of the Ministry of Intelligence and Justice, and today he may give a speech on the subject in an expanded format.
As the Sabah newspaper reports, the investigation is carried out by the Prosecutor's Office of Ankara. Within the framework of the case, on May 14, searches were conducted in the apartments of several temporarily dismissed police officers. They are accused of being related to the "Aykhan Bora Kaplan" criminal group.
According to TRT Haber TV channel, the investigation is being carried out under the articles "Abuse of official position", "Fair trial and attempt to influence the witness" and "Providing support to the criminal". According to media reports, during the investigation, massive layoffs took place in Turkey's internal affairs bodies.
The leader of the Turkish Nationalist Party, Devlet Bahceli, commenting on the information that appeared, said that dismissals may not be enough, because it is about a coup attempt.
