Putin said that trade turnover between the Russian Federation and Armenia in 2024 could become a record

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a significant increase in trade turnover between the Russian Federation and Armenia, which could break a record in 2024.
“Trade turnover reached $7.4 billion last year, and in the first half of this year it grew 2.5 times, exceeding $8.3 billion,” the Russian head of state said at a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.”
If we move at this pace, this means that this year’s trade turnover could reach $14-16 billion, which is a record figure,” Putin said.
According to him, “trade and economic relations are developing very energetically and successfully.”
“Russia is the leading foreign investor in the Armenian economy - about $4 billion in accumulated investments,” the Russian leader emphasized.
The President of the Russian Federation noted that the work of the intergovernmental commission and the business council “gives corresponding good results.”
Putin said that he had already talked with Pashinyan face to face. And at the negotiations, in which Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Assistant to the Head of State Yuri Ushakov, Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation and Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov are taking part on the Russian side, “there is an opportunity to talk on all fundamental issues of mutual interest."
Putin addressed the Armenian delegation as “dear colleagues, friends.”
