A new side effect has been found in the night coffee

In the evening, the use of caffeine can reduce self-control and cause more impulsive behavior. This conclusion was based on the biologists of Texas University in Paso, as a result of a number of attempts on Drosophila (Fruit Flies). The results were published in the ISCIENCE magazine.

Scientists have studied the impact of caffeine on the behavior of fruit flies, depending on the day and sex. After importing the caffeine, researchers appreciated the ability to suppress an insectual reaction of insects, such as stopping the movement during acute air flows. Researchers have explained that in normal conditions, flies stop flying when there is a significant obstacle for it.

It turned out that night caffeine significantly reduces the level of flies, especially females, self-control. Despite the inconvenience, they continued to actively move. However, the daytime caffeine did not cause this effect.

Despite the concentration of the caffeine, the body was the same, the reaction was different. This, according to the authors, testifies to the possible impact of genetic or physiological factors, and not only hormonal levels.

"Drooflay Melanogas is a great model for studying complex behavior due to its genetic and nervous similarities," explains Ken-Anti, Professor at Texas University in Paso.

Researchers believe that the results can be relevant to people, especially for women who work in a night shift or drink coffee before bed. Medical workers, military and other specialists in the risk group, whose work requires increasing concentration and self-control at the late night.
