A jubilee concert dedicated to the 80th birthday of Armenian jazz legend Levon Malkhasyan was held at the "Aram Khachatryan" concert hall. The concert was attended by Zhanna Andreasyan, RA Prime Minister's wife Anna Hakobyan, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, Deputy Minister of KGSM Daniel Danielyan.
Minister Zhanna Andreasyan congratulated the maestro on the occasion of his 80th birthday and presented him with a gold commemorative medal of the KGSMS.
"This is the day when we should congratulate each other before congratulating the maestro, because we have the opportunity to be present together at the birthday event of the personality that gives color to our city, personifies it and brings a new culture. Your works give each of us new energy, enthusiasm and optimism.
I wish you creative success, and we wish you new opportunities to enjoy your presence and concert evenings," said Zhanna Andreasyan.
Jazz musician, composer Artur Satyan (Lebanon), jazz musician Adam Teratsuyan (Russia), jazzman, pianist Samvel Gasparyan (UAE) were invited to Armenia from abroad as part of the anniversary concert.
Other artists and musicians also performed at the concert, including the trio "Levon Malkhasyan", "Garik Saribekyan" and "Areg Arustamyan", Martin Vardazaryan, Vahagn Hayrapetyan.
The concert evening was held with the participation of the State Jazz Orchestra of Armenia (artistic director: Davit Melkonyan) and the Pop Symphony Orchestra of the Public Radio of Armenia (artistic director: People's Artist of Armenia Yervand Yerznkyan). The concert was held under the main sponsorship of Yerevan Municipality.
