"We plan to organize a legendary jazz concert," Gosh Sargsyan, the head of culture and tourism department of Yerevan Municipality, opened the conference with these words.
We are talking about the concert dedicated to the 80th birthday of jazz maestro Levon Malkhasyan, which will take place on December 24 at 19:00 at the Aram Khachatryan concert hall.
The "Malkhas 80" concert program promises to be full, as maestro Levon Malkhasyan himself, his art, his contribution to the city's music and culture will be part of the event.
And, of course, the main thing in this concert is the preservation and transmission of jazz values. "It is very important that people, patriots like Levon Malkhasyan lived, live and will live in our capital, who talk and tell a lot about Yerevan. When you try to present the maestro's art separately, it turns out that the whole is Yerevan, these are the days lived, the hours in Yerevan, this is the history of the city," Gosh Sargsyan continued.
"It is very important for Yerevan Municipality to participate in the organization of such events and express support.
"This will not be just a concert evening, tomorrow Levon Malkhasyan's life path will be shown, which the audience will be able to walk with him," said Shmavon Grigoryan, the general director of the "New Generation" project. The organization of the project was aimed at making the concert an important part of the capital's cultural life.
"We don't want to reveal the content of the video materials that will be presented at the concert, this is a surprise for the audience," said Shahen Nazarenko, the director of the event.
On this festive evening, the audience can expect a special program, the participation of famous orchestras and musicians from other countries, trios and intriguing surprises.
