During a meeting with Andriy Yermak, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, in Washington, US President's National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said that Kiev will receive another package of aid from the US before the inauguration of Donald Trump on January 20, The Guardian reports. According to the newspaper, the aid includes "hundreds of thousands of additional artillery shells, thousands of rockets and hundreds of armored vehicles" to be delivered by mid-January.
In addition, the US promises assistance in the training of military personnel in facilities outside Ukraine. these loans will be secured by the proceeds from frozen Russian assets.
At the same time, Andrei Yermak met with key members of Trump's team, including future Vice President JD Vance, National Security Advisor nominee Mike Waltz, and Trump's chosen envoy for Russia and Ukraine, Keith Kellogg.
Earlier, Reuters reported that Trump's team is preparing a proposal to establish peace in Ukraine, by which Ukraine will renounce NATO membership and cede significant territories to Russia, which is a sharp departure from the policy of the current US administration.
