Armenia will be a partner of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) even after the suspension of membership in the association. This was stated by CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov, Sputnik Kazakhstan
reports in his Telegram channel. “We believe that Armenia was, is and remains our ally and we hope that Armenia will return to full participation in the foreseeable future,” the organization’s secretary general emphasized. Tasmagambetov commented on the suspension of Armenia’s membership by decision of the country’s authorities.
He noted that the statements of the Armenian leadership are the actions of the authorities of a sovereign state, and no organization can fully influence the decision. Earlier, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko spoke about the absence of Armenia at the CSTO summit. He commented on the need to speak first due to the absence of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the event.
