Newsweek: The White House said the US does not plan to transfer nuclear weapons to Kyiv

The United States will not transfer nuclear weapons to Ukraine. This is stated in a White House statement in Newsweek magazine. “We do not plan to arm Ukraine with nuclear weapons,” the magazine posted a White House statement.

According to the publication, the request to the US presidential administration was made on the same day when Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council (SC) Dmitry Medvedev wrote that “American politicians and journalists are seriously discussing the consequences of transferring nuclear weapons to Kyiv.”

Medvedev noted that “the sad joke about the crazy senile [US President Joe] Biden, who decided to die gracefully, taking a significant part of humanity with him, is turning into a frightening reality.” Earlier, The New York Times wrote that some officials in the United States and European countries proposed returning nuclear weapons to Kyiv, which Ukraine abandoned after the collapse of the USSR.
