Deputies of the Parliament of Abkhazia adopted a resolution by which extraordinary presidential elections were scheduled in Abkhazia on February 15, 2025, the TASS correspondent reports from the session.
"Schedule extraordinary presidential elections in Abkhazia on February 15, 2025," the parliament's decision says.
Amidst the November 15 protests, Abkhazia's President Aslan Bzhania and Prime Minister Alexander Ankvab resigned. According to the constitution, the duties of the president were transferred to the vice-president, Badre Gyunba, who appointed him as a temporary official.
