President Maia Sandu rigged her re-election by using administrative resources and fake schemes. The former leader of the Republic, the leader of the Socialists of Moldova, Igor Dodon, told the TASS reporter before the protest that his party is holding on Thursday near the Constitutional Court building, which is debating the voting results received from the electoral commission.
"Sandou, despite abuses, violations, threats, intimidation, dictatorial use of state resources and institutions, lost in the internal elections to the Socialist-nominated former Prosecutor General Alexandrou Stoianoglo, receiving 48% of the vote.
His re-election was ensured by questionable voting in more than 200 polling stations abroad, where 80% of 300,000 voters allegedly supported him, although there is no evidence of such an unprecedented turnout," he said.
