How much money will Yerevan Municipality spend for New Year's celebrations?

"As long as the word million exists, journalists will always write articles and criticize. If it is 1 or 100 million, you immediately change the dram to a dollar, so that it is a dollar," Yerevan Deputy Mayor Suren Grigoryan said at a press conference, stating that the journalistic community's articles on New Year's celebrations are an inevitable process.

Responding to a journalist's question that Taron Margaryan spent ten times less for New Year's celebrations, but was criticized by the current ruling power, Grigoryan said that he did not remember such large-scale events being carried out during Taron Margaryan's time.

According to the deputy mayor, Tbilisi's good festive lighting is the reason why our citizens go there to celebrate the New Year.
"I will announce this year's number once again: 549 million 706 thousand AMD will be spent," said the deputy mayor and mentioned that they had planned to renew the main Christmas tree, but the purchase of the lot did not take place and the planned 50 million AMD was not spent.

He said that 60 million drams will be spent on the works of designing the fountains of the Republic Square and it will be carried out by the "Factory Production" company.

Suren Grigoryan also referred to the fact of buying a new main Christmas tree by the decision of Hayk Marutyan and mentioned.

"He did it right, he did it well."

The deputy mayor also announced the day of lighting the holiday lights.

"99%, or 100%, the Christmas tree lighting ceremony will take place on December 8," he said.
